Refund Policy

Last Updated: September 27, 2026

This Refund Policy explains refunds for Scascan subscriptions and one-time AI credit packs. Scascan is a software service. Paid purchases are processed by Paddle, the Merchant of Record. This policy follows Paddle's Refund Policy. If that policy and this page differ, the right that is more favourable to you applies, and mandatory consumer rights are not limited.

Key Points

  • You may request a refund within 14 days of the transaction date.
  • A refund request is not limited to cases where the service is not working.
  • Shorter or longer unconditional cancellation rights required by local law still apply.
  • Paddle processes the payment and any approved refund as Merchant of Record.

Paid Products & Services

Subscription Plans

Scascan offers paid subscription plans (Scascan Pro and Scascan Ultra) billed on a monthly or yearly basis. Subscription plans provide access to premium features, additional AI credits each billing period, and the ability to host published menus. The Free plan does not require payment.

One-Time Credit Packs

Scascan also offers one-time AI credit top-up packs. These packs add credits to your account balance immediately upon purchase. Purchased credits do not expire and are consumed when you use server-side AI features such as AI menu scanning, AI refinement, and AI image generation.

General Refund Policy

You may request a refund for a Scascan subscription payment or credit-pack purchase within 14 days of the transaction date. The request does not have to be based on a technical fault. Paddle reviews the request and may approve a full refund, approve a partial refund, or decline it. Sending a request within 14 days does not by itself guarantee a refund.

Where local law gives you an unconditional right to cancel or withdraw, that right applies even if it is longer than 14 days, and it overrides any narrower wording on this page. Those statutory periods are set out below.

Subscription Payments

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Paddle Customer Portal. When you cancel:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid billing period.
  • You will not be charged again after cancellation takes effect.
  • At the end of the billing period, your account returns to the Free plan.
  • Any hosted menus remain accessible on the Free plan, subject to Free plan limits.

Cancelling stops future renewals. It is separate from a refund. You may still request a refund of a charge inside the refund window on this page.

Refund Window

The standard window for a refund request is 14 days from the transaction date. Count that period from the date of the charge you want refunded.

Where you are a consumerUnconditional cancellation period
European Union, EEA, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Israel14 days from the transaction date
South Korea, Brazil, China, and Canada7 days from the transaction date
Singapore5 days from the transaction date

For consumers in the European Union, EEA, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, the 14-day withdrawal right applies to a one-off purchase and to the first payment of a subscription. It also starts again when a free trial ends and the first paid period begins. In the United Kingdom, an annual subscription also has a new 14-day withdrawal period starting on the day it renews for another year. Later renewal charges are not given a fresh withdrawal period except where the law requires one.

If the law that applies to you gives a stronger right than the period in this table, that stronger right applies.

One-Time Credit Purchases

Credit packs are one-time purchases of digital credits. They use the same 14-day refund window, and the same statutory cancellation periods, as other Scascan transactions. A pack being delivered immediately does not remove a statutory right. If a discretionary request is reviewed, whether any of the credits have been used may be taken into account. That review is not limited to unused packs or to technical faults.

Duplicate or Erroneous Charges

If you believe you have been charged more than once for the same purchase, or if a charge appears on your account that you did not authorise, please contact us immediately at support@scascan.com. We will investigate and, if the charge is confirmed as a duplicate or unauthorised, issue a refund promptly.

Service Outages & Technical Issues

If a technical problem or a material defect prevents you from using the paid features as described, contact Scascan first at support@scascan.com so we can try to fix it. If it is not resolved, contact Paddle and include what happened and any reply from us. Where there is evidence of a material defect, Paddle issues a refund in line with applicable consumer-protection law. A technical problem is one reason for a refund. It is not the only reason.

Payment Processing & Paddle

Merchant of Record

All payments for scascan subscriptions and credit packs are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record. This means Paddle is the entity that processes your payment, handles applicable taxes, and appears on your bank or card statement.

An approved refund is returned, where possible, to the same payment method and within 14 days of approval. A statutory withdrawal is refunded within 14 days of Paddle receiving that withdrawal request. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to show the credit.

Paddle does not issue a refund where there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or other manipulative behaviour. If a refund is issued, access to the refunded paid features stops. This does not limit a right you have under local law.

Operator

Scascan is a service operated by RAYNETIC SOLUTIONS PTY LTD, a Brisbane-based digital solutions company. RAYNETIC SOLUTIONS PTY LTD develops and operates Scascan. Refund requests are handled under this policy and processed by Paddle.

Your Consumer Rights

Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits a mandatory consumer right. If local law and this page differ, the higher level of protection applies. That includes rights for a product that is not as described, faulty, or not fit for purpose.

Consumers in the European Union can use the withdrawal option in the Paddle Customer Portal during the 14-day withdrawal period. The portal link is in the purchase receipt. Consumers in the United Kingdom can withdraw by contacting Paddle through the receipt or at paddle.net.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, use the support link in your Paddle receipt, or go to paddle.net and choose the refund option. You may also email Scascan. Please include:

  • The email address associated with your scascan account.
  • The approximate date and amount of the charge.
  • A description of the issue or reason for your refund request.
  • Any relevant screenshots or error messages, if applicable.
